Here is the plan…

  1. Make a booking online and secure your appointment by paying the booking deposit (this amount will be deducted from your total treatment cost).
  2. During your appointment we will assess your skin and beauty needs and recommend the best treatment option for you.
  3. It might involve using muscle relaxing injections. Don’t worry the needles are really small – less than the diameter of 3 strands of hair.
  4. You might experience temporary redness at the injection site but it should resolve in 15-30min. 
  5. Results will start to kick in over the next 3-5days with optimal muscle relaxation at the two week maak.
  6. We will check-in with you after two weeks and make any adjustments if needed.

Important information

  • Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event. Redness, swelling and bruising may be apparent in that time period.
  • It is recommended to discontinue the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising or bleeding. Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment. All of these factors may increase risk of bruising and swelling.
  • Starting Arnica supplements at least 2 days prior to injections may help with bruising.
  • Let the provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
  • You may not have an active rash in the area being treated.
  • You may not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Redness or sensitivity might be present (and last up to a few hours).
  • Use Panado only as needed for any soreness.
  • Do NOT manipulate the treated area for 4 hours following treatment.
  • Do NOT wear a hat for 4 hours following treatment.
  • Do NOT lie down for 4 hours after your treatment.
  • Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting or vigorous exercise for 4 hours after treatment.
  • It is recommended that you wait at least 2 weeks before having any other facial treatments (i.e. facials, massages, lasers, ultrasounds, micro-dermabrasion).
  • It can take approximately 3-5 days for results to be seen. If the desired result is not seen after 2 weeks of your treatment you may need additional injections. You will be charged for product used during any touch up or subsequent appointments.

This treatment requires minimal downtime so you can go straight back to work after the procedure has been completed.

In general the toxin will start to work within 3-4 days with good results achieved after two weeks. It will last between 4-6months depending on the way your body metabolizes it.

It will start to decline after 3-4 months. Most patient’s require a top-up after 4 months.

Botox is a neuromuscular blocking agent, which means it causes paralysis of the injected muscle by preventing the release of acetylcholine from motor nerve terminals. The muscle strengthens again as the nerves regenerate.

The needle is extremely small so it feels like nothing more than a pin prick. Other than the injection itself, the procedure is painless.

Side effects are usually mild and transient and most commonly include swelling or bruising at the injection site, mild headache, or flu-like symptoms. Undesired impairment of muscle function may also occur, but is usually associated with poor injection technique or inappropriate patient selection. Because smaller doses are less likely to cause unintended adverse effects, a conservative approach to treatment is advisable.

When injected in the correct amounts by the right medical provider, Botox and Dysport injections can result in a subtle appearance that only you will notice. But beware, everyone might comment on your improved appearance, they just might not be able to pinpoint the cause.
